A passionate team
The Forest Bakehouse was started in 2013 by an initial group of people that were passionate about bringing real, nutritious bread to the local community. After much hard work and commitment, in 2016 The Forest Bakehouse was named Best Producer in the Taste of Gloucestershire Award and today is a busy, thriving business. In 2019 we won Best Independent Retailer in the Forest of Dean Business Awards and were finalists as Cafe of the Year in the So Glos Awards and Best Customers Service in the Cotswold Food Awards. Our team keeps expanding to serve our increasing number of loyal customers and we're incredibly proud to be an important community hub.
A SPECIAL THANKS
As a community cooperative bakery, we feel privileged to have had the financial support from local individuals who invested in the enterprise from the beginning and continue to support us as customers and friends. Their investment coupled with European funding secured from the Local Action Group made it possible for us to establish and develop, and for this we are super grateful!

We are also supported in our purpose by The Real Bread Campaign, an international initiative finding and sharing ways to make bread better for us, better for our communities and better for the planet.
